There are no funds available to me out of which payment could be made to or in respect of Irish workers, whether migratory or otherwise, by reason of their unemployment in Great Britain. Claims for benefit or assistance in respect of such unemployment fall to be dealt with under the relevant British legislation. I should perhaps add, however, that under reciprocal arrangements made between this country and Great Britain social insurance contributions paid here may, in certain circumstances, be taken into account for the purposes of paying unemployment benefit under the British scheme of national insurance.
