Vol. 200 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tramore Sewage Scheme.

18.

asked the Minister for Local Government if there are proposals before his Department from the Waterford County Council for the implementing of a sewage scheme at Tramore.

This scheme has been approved in principle. There are no proposals before my Department for its implementation.

Is the Minister aware that this scheme was first sent to Waterford County Council by Tramore Urban Council 14 years ago and that it looks as if the people will now have pay two and a half times as much?

They paid for two Coalitions in the meantime.

They paid the Minister for Health and the Minister for Finance a whole lot more than the 2/-which they said would be the cost of the health services. Do not draw me out.

It is true that there has been a very long delay in this case. My Department have been making efforts with the local county council and the local manager to get over that delay. These difficulties are not of our making or of the making of the members of the county council. There is another element that has been holding this up.

I am obliged to the Minister.
