asked the Minister for Education the position regarding the proposal for the provision of a new national school at Killasser, Swinford, County Mayo.

I presume that the school the Deputy has in mind is Callow national school, which is in the parish of Killasser.

It is expected that the Commissioners of Public Works will have sketch plans for the proposed new Callow school ready before the end of this month.

asked the Minister for Education when it is hoped to carry out the proposed works on Carrowmore national school, Lacken, Ballina, County Mayo.

asked the Minister for Education what is the up-to-date position regarding the proposed improvements to Templemary national school, Killala, County Mayo.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Numbers 60 and 61 together.

Grants towards the cost of carrying out schemes of improvement at Carrowmore and Templemary national schools have been sanctioned by my Department. The arrangements for the carrying out of the schemes are in the hands of the Commissioners of Public Works. I am unable to say at this stage when work on the schemes will commence.

asked the Minister for Education what is the up-to-date position regarding the proposed improvement to Currabaggan national school, Ballina, County Mayo.

asked the Minister for Education what is the up-to-date position regarding the proposed improvement for Swinford convent national school, County Mayo.

asked the Minister for Education what is the up-to-date position regarding the proposed improvements to Callow national school, Foxford, County Mayo.

Grants towards the cost of carrying out schemes of improvement at Killala and Currabaggan national schools have been sanctioned. The arrangements for the carrying out of the schemes are in the hands of the Commissioners of Public Works. I am unable to say at this stage when work on the schemes will commence.

The Commissioners of Public Works hope to be in a position to invite tenders for the erection of the new Swinford convent school in about three months' time.

It is hoped that sketch plans for a new national school at Callow will be ready before the end of this month.
