NOTE:
(1) The figure for the year 1962/63 is based on the estimate amount of rates collected in that year.
(2) The figures for the year 1960/61 are based on the 1956 Population Census and those for the years 1961/62 and 1962/63 on the Final Returns of the 1961 Census.
(3) The figures for 1961/62 differ slightly from the figures in reply dated 13th February 1963 viz. £8 4 7 (Dáil Debates, Vol. 199 No. 10 Cols. 1299-1300). The reason for the discrepancy is that the earlier figure was based on the preliminary returns of the 1961 Census. The figure given above is based on the Final Returns which have since become available and which show a population increase of 3,638 on that given in the earlier returns.
