Vol. 203 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Garda Stations.

37.

asked the Minister for Finance if it is proposed to acquire a site for a new Garda station at Caherciveen, County Kerry; or if a site has been already acquired; and, if so, when it is expected that work on the building will commence.

It is intended to build a new district headquarters station and three houses for married Gardaí at Caherciveen. A site is already available for the houses and negotiations are about to be opened for the purchase of a site for the station.

It is not possible to say at this stage when building will commence but every effort will be made to expedite the project.

38.

asked the Minister for Finance when the new Garda station at Kilgarvan, County Kerry, for which money was provided in last year's Vote, will be erected.

Tenders for the erection of a new Garda station at Kilgarvan were invited twice this year but on neither occasion was an acceptable tender received. It is intended to re-invite tenders later this year.
