Vol. 203 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Location of Industries.

33.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if foreign industrialists coming to this country are provided by officials with a list of individuals on whom they may call while seeking possible places for the location of industries; and, if so, if he will give the names of the persons who have been considered as suitable for inclusion in this list.

Foreign industrialists usually ask to be put in touch with representatives of Development Associations in the areas in which they are interested and it is the practice to meet this request by giving them the particulars which have been supplied for this purpose by these Associations.

Is the Minister aware that the information is channelled into a certain political Party who, we all know, will get first-hand information relating to the matter and which is not available to any other Party? I should like the Minister to answer that question.

The local associations develop through local initiative and I cannot be blamed if the main initiative lies with one Party.
