Vol. 204 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Financing of Verolme (Cork) Dockyard.

5.

asked the Minister for Finance the total amount of State money advanced to Messrs. Verolme's shipbuilding project at Cork, the amount of private capital invested in the Company, and the amount of bank accommodation granted to the firm.

As I indicated in reply to previous similar questions, it would not be proper for me to disclose information regarding transactions between the Industrial Credit Company Ltd. and its clients.

I may, however, add for the Deputy's information that it is expected that the Dáil will have an opportunity of learning about the financial arrangements between the Industrial Credit Company and Messrs. Verolme at an early date.

Am I to understand from that that the information sought in Question No. 5 will be made available when the Supplementary Estimate comes before the Dáil?

I think it will all be made available, yes.

Is it proposed to take this Supplementary Estimate before the House adjourns?

This week or next?

Next week, I think.

Will you be here next week?

Yes, we will.

If we do not, it will be a sad day for you.

And as shaky as you are today, and that is saying something.

The Tánaiste is a doctor now and a higher standard is expected from him.

I think that is a premature delivery.

(Interruptions.)

If you cannot beat them, you have to join them.

Order.

Question No. 6 postponed.
