Vol. 204 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork Dispensary.

9.

asked the Minister for Health whether the Cork Health authority have requested sanction for the erection of a dispensary on a particular site at Ravensdale, Douglas, County Cork; whether plans have been submitted and sanctioned; and, if so, if he will indicate the approximate cost of erection of the dispensary complete with caretaker's accommodation.

On 1st instant, the Cork Health Authority requested my approval to a proposal to acquire from the Cork County Council the site of a former pump-house premises at Douglas for the purpose of converting these premises into a dispensary for the district. I presume this is the proposal to which the Deputy refers. On 6th instant the health authority submitted a plan showing the alterations they propose to enable the premises to be used as a dispensary. This plan does not include provision for caretaker's accommodation. No estimate of the cost of the proposal has been submitted.

I have made arrangements for an early inspection of the property in question to ascertain its suitability for the purpose envisaged and a decision in the matter will be conveyed to the health authority as soon as possible.
