Vol. 204 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Control of Mink.

9.

asked the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to the disquiet caused among residents of Commons East, Swords, County Dublin, by the escape of numerous mink from breeding pens in that district; and if he will take steps, in the interest of child safety and public health, to have these animals securely housed with a view to the prevention of further anxiety.

I have no function in relation to the custody of animals.

Will the Minister say if he is aware whether any other Government Department has authority to see that the public health is protected from these rodents? Three different Ministers have disclaimed responsibility.

I have none anyway.
