Vol. 205 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mayo National Schools.

104.

asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding proposals for the erection of national schools at (a) Doohoma, (b) Corclough West, (c) Ballymunnelly, (d) Carratighe and (e) Callow, County Mayo.

A suitable site for the proposed new Doohoma national school has been offered and the manager has been requested to furnish evidence of title. The Commissioners of Public Works have been asked to prepare plans.

The Commissioners of Public Works hope to be in a position to invite tenders at an early date for the erection of new schools at Corclough and Ballymunnelly.

My Department will sanction grants towards the cost of the erection of the proposed new Carratigue and Callow national schools as soon as the necessary title documents to the school sites have been received. In the case of Carratigue, the Manager has reverted to the original intention of building a new school.
