Vol. 207 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Forestry Lands.

42.

asked the Minister for Lands what is the present position regarding the lands at Goulnacappy, Bunglash and Drumbrane, Glencar, County Kerry, offered to the Land Commission for forestry purposes; and what steps he proposes to take to provide work for the twenty-five workers who will become redundant in a very short time.

Six offers comprising 392 acres on offer to the Forestry Division of my Department at Goulnacappy, Bunglash and Drumbrane, Glencar, County Kerry, are in the early stages of investigation. There is no danger of redundancy in the near future at this forest, although in the long term maintenance of the present level of staffing must, of course, depend on further land coming in.
