There was no avoidable delay in sanctioning proposals for the revision of local authority clerical officers' salary scales arising from the recent arbitration award. When a representative number of proposals had been received from local authorities I saw a deputation from the officers' union, at their request, and sanction was issued to the proposals submitted.
