As far as my Department has been able to ascertain not less than 50 secondary schools had already installed television sets before the recent announcement of the decision to make grants to recoup to secondary schools the cost of renting sets for schools purposes. Since that announcement was made, applications for such grants from 106 secondary schools have been sanctioned.

While completely accurate figures for secondary schools alone are not yet available, it appears from a recent census carried out by my Department that there are some 200 film projectors and slightly more than 200 still projectors available for use in secondary schools at present.
