Vol. 219 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Limerick Parking Fines.

36.

asked the Minister for Justice the amount collected under the Road Traffic Act for parking offences in Limerick city since it became law.

Separate statistics are not compiled of fines imposed by the courts for parking offences.

The "fines on the spot" scheme was extended to Limerick city on 1st May last. The amount remitted to my Department up to 5th November in respect of the operation of the scheme in Limerick was £1,267. It is estimated that, roughly, a further £200 has been collected since then but has not yet been remitted.
