41.

asked the Minister for Lands if the Land Commission will consider the acquisition of the lands of the Webb Estate, Newtown, Portroe, County Tipperary.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 39, 40 and 41 together.

The Land Commission have no proceedings for the acquisition of the property but it is proposed to have inquiries made with a view to ascertaining the suitability of the lands for land settlement purposes. Until such time as these are completed it is not possible to forecast what the outcome will be.

42.

asked the Minister for Lands if the division of the Leinster Trust Limited Estate, Tullamain, County Tipperary will take place this spring.

In addition to 245 acres pending for disposal on this Estate, further lands comprising some 160 acres (Toppin Estate) are also awaiting allocation in the same townland. Pending completion of the necessary enquiries on the ground it is not possible to forecast just now when schemes of division for the aggregate area of 405 acres can be planned.

43.

asked the Minister for Lands when it is likely that the division of the Moran Estate, Giantsgrave, Clonmel, County Tipperary, is to take place.

The Land Commission are in possession of an area of some 50 acres on this estate since last year and proceedings for the acquisition of a further 88 acres have reached the stage where the question of price is being arranged.

Pending completion of these proceedings it is not feasible to indicate when a scheme for the division of the entire area—138 acres—will be formulated.
