Vol. 225 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Donegal Island School Transport.

30.

asked the Minister for Education if he is aware that Cruit Island national school has been closed; and, if so, if he will provide transport for the children from the island to Belcruit national school, Kincasslagh, County Donegal.

Mr. O'Malley

Cruit Island is connected by a bridge to the mainland. The school there was closed in August, 1964 due to the small enrolment of pupils. It was not considered at that time that a transport service was needed to convey the children to Belcruit national school.

I am arranging to have the matter investigated with a view to ascertaining whether the setting up of such a service would be justified at present.
