Vol. 230 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Value of Imports.

2.

asked the Taoiseach if there was any special reason why imports for June, 1967, were almost one-third in value in excess of those for June, 1966.

The value of imports in June, 1966, was exceptionally low by comparison with other months in 1966 and with June, 1965. The British seamen's strike undoubtedly contributed to this. Imports in June, 1967, were not exceptional and, in fact, they were about £800,000 lower than for May, 1967.
