Vol. 231 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Monaghan Water Facilities.

19.

asked the Minister for Local Government when he proposes to sanction the proposal of Monaghan County Council to provide water and sewerage facilities for the ten council houses built 13 years ago in Moys, Clontibret, County Monaghan, in view of the fact that the local school with 98 children is using water out of the local pump, which would appear to create a hazard to their health.

I am having the proposal for these works, which are comparatively costly and would under existing arrangements involve the tenants in a rent increase of about 7/-a week, examined further to see if the amount to be borne by them can be reduced.

No proposals have been received from the county council regarding the provision of a water supply to the local school.
