I have not received any formal application from Donegal County Council for permission to float a loan to finance water and sewerage schemes but my Department's observations were sought on such a proposal.
As the source from which finance is provided for water and sewerage schemes is not the critical factor, I would see no merit in the proposal put forward and the local authority has been informed to that effect.
