The Local Appointments Commission has been asked to hold a competition for a number of permanent dispensary doctor appointments, including the permanent appointment for the vacant post on Arranmore Island, County Donegal. It is expected that the posts will be advertised in the near future.
The Minister will appreciate the urgency, as there is a locum tenens on the island and who, in my opinion, would be the only possible applicant. If it is not advertised, this possible applicant may leave the locality.
