With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 66 and 67 together. Particulars of grants paid by An Foras Tionscal are given in the annual reports published by that body. These reports are available in the Library. The reports do not distinguish between Irish controlled and foreign-controlled firms and records are not kept in a form which would make the required information readily available. A fully accurate and up-to-date statement in the matter of control could be made only on the basis of an examination in the Companies Registration Office records of the current shareholding in each grant-aided firm.

As particulars regarding the names of the firms that failed since 1957-58 and their classification between Irish and foreign promotion is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose with your permission, A Cheann Comhairle to have the statement circulated with the Official Report.
