Vol. 237 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Waterford Housing.

22.

asked the Minister for Local Government when work is likely to commence on the council cottages at Kilmacomma, Clonmel, County Waterford.

The council's proposals for a scheme of 18 houses, of which 10 are to be provided initially, have been referred back to them for reconsideration on certain aspects raised by my Department's technical advisers, and arrangements have been made for early discussions locally between officials of my Department and the housing authority. I am not in a position at this stage to say when work on this scheme will be started.

23.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will inquire into the delay in the building of houses at Dungarvan, County Waterford by the National Building Agency; and if he will have the erection of these houses expedited.

I understand that a tender for the erection of houses by the National Building Agency at Dungarvan, County Waterford, has been accepted, subject to the standard requirement that the contractor obtains a contract guarantee bond and that the matter is at present being actively pursued.
