Vol. 241 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Water Pressure.

34.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of representations made by a company (name supplied) to Dublin Corporation about the low water pressure supplying their factory in Crumlin; and what measures will be taken by Dublin Corporation to rectify the situation.

35.

asked the Minister for Local Government what measures Dublin Corporation intend to take to rectify the low water pressure in all parts of the city area.

36.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the low level of water pressure in houses in the Ballygall Estate, Dublin; and that residents often have no water to flush toilets or take baths; and what action it is proposed to take to deal with this problem.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 34, 35 and 36 together.

I understand that at present due mainly to the recent dry spell the pressure of water in some areas is reduced. Any temporary measures to increase pressure in particular areas or to increase generally the supply of water would be for the local authority.

Would the Minister not agree that before the dry spell the water pressure in Dublin city had been deteriorating? Could the Minister find out whether Dublin Corporation have any specific proposals for improving the water pressure in the city?

The difficulty is due to the dry spell.

Is the Minister saying there is no other cause?

That is right.
