Vol. 243 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - British Army Widows.

47.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he is aware that a number of widows of persons who were natives of this country and who served in the British Army are now living in this country in poor circumstances; and if he will make some provision to alleviate such hardships.

All persons in the category the Deputy mentions already have available to them the same social assistance services as widows of persons who never left this country. Any extension of these services to make special provision for particular categories of widows is not contemplated.
