Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Comprehensive School.

73.

asked the Minister for Education if he will consider the provision of a comprehensive post-primary school for the Ashtown and Clonsilla areas of County Dublin.

The post-primary school accommodation needs of the Ashtown and Clonsilla areas of County Dublin must be considered in conjunction with those of the Blanchardstown area. The advisory council set up to consider post-primary school accommodation requirements in the greater Dublin area has this whole matter under consideration at present.

Might I inform the Minister that there are no facilities whatsoever for the extension of the Blanchardstown school, and what he said in his reply as regards the Clonsilla and Castleknock areas would not be relevant? A new school will have to be provided in those areas if the Minister wants to add to the existing facilities.

As I explained, the advisory council is considering post-primary requirements in the area.

The remaining Questions will appear on tomorrow's Order Paper.
