asked the Minister for Finance if, in his forthcoming Budget, he will implement his promise of parity for all State pensioners given in the last Budget.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - State Pensioners.
The question of increasing State pensions is one for consideration in connection with the preparation of the Budget and it is, therefore, not possible at this stage to give any decision on the question.
The question Deputy Kitt put down was to inquire if the Minister proposed to implement a promise he had given during the last Budget.
He gave a certain undertaking during the last Budget and the circumstances have not changed.
We are not talking about the next Budget. I do not want to ask the Parliamentary Secretary a question which he may not answer, but could he tell us if the Minister has any idea of announcing it before the next Budget?
This is a matter that will be considered in the next Budget.
The remaining questions will appear on tomorrow's Order Paper.
