Vol. 245 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - South Tipperary Housing.

38.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will give details, including submission dates, of unsanctioned applications from Tipperary South Riding County Council for permission to borrow money from the Local Loans Fund for local authority housing.

A proposal to borrow a composite loan of £125,000 from the Local Loans Fund to cover the cost of a number of housing schemes was submitted by the council on the 18th July last. It is normal practice not to sanction the borrowing of moneys until the acceptance of the appropriate tenders have been approved by me. On this basis, the borrowing of £31,000 of the moneys included in the composite loan has already been sanctioned in respect of dwellings at Ballinuty, Ballycrehane, Killenaule and Clashganny West. Approval will be given to further portions of the loan according as the remaining schemes covered by the loan mature to the appropriate stage. A proposal to raise a separate loan of £33,000 to finance 12 houses at Ardfinnan was submitted on 3rd March, 1970, and is under consideration.
