Vol. 251 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Limerick Institute of Higher Education.

23.

asked the Minister for Education what steps he has taken to ensure that the Institute of Higher Education in Limerick will be able to start courses in 1971.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply of 28th January, 1971, in which I indicated that proposals submitted by the planning board regarding courses which, in their opinion, would be appropriate in the case of the Institute of Higher Education to be established in Limerick and the staffing requirements in this connection are being examined by the Higher Education Authority. A decision in relation to the date of opening of the institute will be taken as soon as the authority's recommendations have been received and examined.
