Vol. 255 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Meath Estate.

30.

asked the Minister for Lands if the Land Commission are aware of the proposed sale of the Anthony McCann estate, Rathinree Upper, Moynalty, Kells, County Meath; and if steps will be taken to have it acquired by the Land Commission for the alleviation of congestion in the immediate area.

I understand that this property has been offered for sale by public auction. I shall arrange to have the Deputy's representations brought to the attention of the Land Commission.

Is the Minister aware that this estate was divided in 1936, that most of the applicants were recipients of the former division and that they now discover that the division they got is no longer economic? Would the Minister use his good offices to take over this farm?

I was not aware of that.
