It is hoped that 28 extra maternity hospital beds will be provided on the north side of Dublin later this year. Planning of a further addition of 60 to 70 maternity beds is being pressed forward urgently.
The long-term needs of this area for maternity hospital bed accommodation are also under active consideration.
