Officers who forfeit pensionable service when they absent themselves without authority from their places of duty have a right under the Local Government (Superannnuation) Act, 1956, to appeal to me to have the service restored. The officers referred to in the question did, in fact, make such appeals and I have restored all the pensionable service which they had forfeited.
