Vol. 265 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dental Service Provision.

45.

asked the Minister for Health if he is aware of the serious inadequacy of the dental services in Ireland, particularly with regard to families of insured workers, pregnant women and holders of medical cards; and if he will undertake a major overhaul of these services as a matter of urgency.

The policy in relation to the provision of dental services for the eligible classes is to concentrate available resources primarily on the provision of services for children. I shall be examining the extent to which the services for other members of these classes are inadequate and the further action which may be required to remedy any deficiencies.
