Vol. 266 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bray Paving Stones.

33.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when the paving slabs of the footpath in Main Street, Bray, County Wicklow, will be reinstated.

Arrangements have been made with (he local authority concerned to have the work in question completed at an early date.

Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware of the number of accidents that have been caused because people have slipped on these badly placed paving stones?

I have no information on this.

I take it from the reply given that the work is practically under way. Would the Parliamentary Secretary ask the Minister whether he would also undertake giving to the contractors now on the site repair work necessary at Quinsboro' Road, Putland Road——

The Deputy is bringing in new matter. The question relates to Main Street, Bray.

I do not think so. Bearing in mind that Bray is a leading seaside resort and that the tidy towns competition is upon us, all of these are factors to be considered——

The Deputy is making a speech. He must confine his supplementaries to the subject matter of the question which refers to footpaths in Main Street, Bray.

The Parliamentary Secretary implied that the contractors are now on the site.

The Deputy has had that information.

Arising from that, might I ask the Parliamentary Secretary to request the Minister to include the other areas?

The Deputy is obviously seeking to circumvent the decision of the Chair.

I am not in a position to extend my reply. I will convey the Deputy's views to the Minister.
