Vol. 282 No. 6

Business of Dáil.

I beg permission to intervene on a matter affecting the Business of the House. It was agreed at the end of last week that this week's sittings would include a sitting on tomorrow, Friday. It has been agreed to vary that order and there will be no sitting tomorrow. I ask leave to say that now to convenience the House and others whose work depends on the House's sitting.

At 7.30 p.m.?

There could be a Vote at 10.30 p.m. and the Deputy would have to remain here anyway.

Is this because the Government welched on previous agreements?

I seriously advise the Deputies opposite to raise no point on this. I undertook to say nothing about it and I warn Deputy Cunningham that that agreement on my part is conditional on nothing being said on that side. The explanations about this might embarrass his side more than mine.

What about that, Deputy Cunningham?

I know all about this.

Is there any announcement to be made in regard to the sittings of the House for the coming week?

No. I hope to announce later this evening the order in which the House will sit next week.

Will there be a Government next week?

This Government will be in office for a long number of years.
