Vol. 288 No. 1

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order. No. 13 (resumed); Private Members' Business 7 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. No. 44 by agreement.

Could I ask the Taoiseach, in view of the comments of the Minister for Finance during the week-end, when it is intended to continue with the Second Stage of the Anti-Discrimination (Pay) (Amendment) Bill, 1975?

I cannot say at this stage.

Will it be this week or are we going to wait for the final report from the EEC Commission or what is the position?

It is unlikely to be this week.

What is the position at present in the private sector where employers do not know whether they should or should not implement equal pay? What leadership is the Government giving in that direction?

I do not think that arises at the moment.

We will have another meeting?

It will be as interesting as what happened at the Ard-Fheis.

(Interruptions.)

They will be as scarce as Slattery's Mounted Foot——

(Interruptions.)

What about the treatment of the dissidents at the Ard-Fheis? Some of the dissidents are still in the Party and some are out.

(Interruptions.)

The report was confined when we discussed things anyway.

In case the Taoiseach or his Parliamentary Secretary may be listening, it is an important consideration for many industries and could I ask him as a matter of urgency——

I want to dissuade the Deputy from making a speech. I am calling Deputy Dowling who wishes to raise something on the Order of Business.

I am seeking the Ceann Comhairle's assistance as to how I can raise the question of a nation-wide Government Information Service of speeches alleged to be made by the Minister in a public house. The question of the week——

The Deputy is being frivolous. I will communicate with Deputy Dowling.

Can the Ceann Comhairle indicate how I can raise the question?
