The results of the survey on strokes, undertaken by the Medico-Social Research Board, are not expected to be available for publication until late this year. An interim report on the survey has been published in the annual report of the board for 1974.
A report of a study into multiple sclerosis, which was undertaken in 1972 with the aid of a grant from the Medical Research Council, was published in 1973 in the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry (1973) Volume 36, Number 4, Pages 668-673. A study into the prevalence and distribution of the disease in this country which would enable a comparison to be made with the situation in other countries is being undertaken by the Medico-Social Research Board. This study is not yet completed. A description of the study has been published in the board's report for 1974.
