The regulation of the number and type of appointments of consultant medical staff is a function of Comhairle na nOspidéal. I understand that the Comhairle are actively considering proposals received recently from the Mid-Western Health Board for the appointment of one additional surgeon, physician and anaesthetist for the county hospital at Nenagh.
