asked the Minister for Education if he will state, in relation to the final year students at St. Catherine's College of Domestic Economy, Sion Hill, Dublin (a) the date or dates on which the final examinations will be held, (b) the qualifications to be awarded by his Department on the results of the examination, (c) if the examination will be set on the basis of the course followed by the students; and (d) if the Department, the college authorities and the authorities of TCD will cooperate in order to ensure that only one examination will be necessary.

(a) The practical tests for the final year examination in St. Catherine's College of Home Economics, Sion Hill will be held during the week commencing the 15 May and will be completed in eight or nine days. The written examination will commence on the 29 May.
(b) The qualification to be awarded by my Department on the results of the examination is the Teachers Diploma in Home Economics. This will be awarded at pass and honours levels.
(c) The examination will be set on the basis of the course followed by the students.
(d) My Department, the college authorities and the authorities of the University of Dublin are co-operating to ensure that only one examination will take place.
