Vol. 305 No. 8

Written Answers. - Meath Social Welfare Benefit.

389.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare when a decision will be reached on the old age pension application of a person (details supplied) in County Meath.

The local pension committee awarded the person concerned a non-contributory old age pension of £10.50 a week from 31 July 1977, increased to £11.05 from 7 October 1977. He was also paid an increase in respect of his wife from 9 December 1977. The claimant appealed against the pension committee's decision and it has now been decided by an appeals officer that he is entitled to pension, including an increase for his wife, at the maximum rate from 3 December 1977, when he ceased to work.

The appropriate pension order book and arrears have issued.
