asked the Taoiseach the ratio of primary fuel import costs to total import costs and the ratio of consumers' expenditure on traded energy to gross national product, for each of the years 1960, 1965, 1970, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978 and 1979 to date, and if he will express the ratio as a percentage in both cases.
Written Answers. - Fuel Statistics.
The following table shows for each of the years requested, (1) the value of fuel imports expressed as a percentage of the value of total imports, (2) the total value of energy (excluding that used on farms without process of sale) consumed in the economy, expressed as a percentage of gross national product at current factor cost. Total energy figures are derived as the value of sales less purchases of energy by domestic producers, exclusive of taxes, together with the value of all imports less exports of energy.
