Written Answers - Inner City Development Fund

asked the Minister for the Environment the amount of money spent to date, with details of the recipients in each case, from the special inner city development fund established in 1978.

The Inner City Fund was established in July 1979 when Dáil Éireann passed a Supplementary Estimate for a grant-in-aid of £1 million "for economic and social improvement purposes in Dublin Inner City".

An amount of £67,000 was paid from the fund to the Industrial Development Authority in December 1979 to subsidise the acquisition for industry of two sites in the inner city area. Five further allocations amounting to £86,500 have been made and arrangements for the payment of these will be made shortly. Details are as follows—

1. North Inner City Co-operative Management grant.
