Vol. 320 No. 9

Written Answers - Dublin Water and Sewerage Schemes.

191.

asked the Minister for the Environment whether he has had any recent meetings with Dublin Corporation regarding the difficulties associated with the granting of way-leave for the improvement of the water supply and sewerage system for the city: if so, the date of each meeting; and the administrative measures he proposes to invoke to alleviate the situation pending the review of the relevant legislation.

There has been no meeting with Dublin Corporation on the subject of wayleaves. My Department have already advised local authorities by circular letter to acquire wayleaves well in advance of the commencement of work on water and sewerage schemes and I do not propose to take any further administrative measures pending completion of the review of the relevant legislation.

I am happy to inform the Deputy that I am advised that the outstanding problem in regard to the securing of a way-leave for the Liffey Aqueduct Duplication Scheme has now been resolved.
