asked the Minister for Energy if he will state in respect of himself and each Minister of State in his Department, the date of any journey undertaken within the State other than by the official State car assigned to him; the nature of the conveyance; the origin, destination and the purpose of the journey; and the cost to public funds.

The travel undertaken by me in the circumstances defined in the Deputy's question was negligible, and the arrangements involved were made by a state-sponsored body in relation to the operations of which the travelling was relevant.

All my official journeys as Minister for Foreign affairs within the State were by the official State car assigned to me.

This information could only be assembled at significant cost. Security considerations also arise. For these reasons it is not possible to supply the information requested in the question.

In view of the private nature of any such journey and of the security implication it would be neither appropriate nor possible to give the details requested.

Neither I nor either of the Ministers of State at my Department undertook any journey, other than by official State car, which incurred a cost to public funds.

Neither the Minister of State at my Department nor myself has undertaken any official journey within the State other than by official State car.

No payment has been made out of public funds in respect of any journeys within the State undertaken by me or by the Minister of State involving the use of transport other than an official State car.

No journey within the State was undertaken by me, nor by the Minister of State attached to my Department, involving the use of transport other than an official State car.

No such journey was undertaken by me since my appointment as Minister for Fisheries and Forestry.
