The St. George Fishery Company Ltd. is a private company and its shares have recently been sold. The powers of the Central Fisheries Board extend only to the acquisition of a fishery for the purpose of implementing a development programme. As the St. George Fishery is not the subject of such a development programme the Central Fisheries Board does not have authority to acquire it.
