asked the Minister for Finance the plans he has to alleviate the heavy flooding in the area of Lombardstown to Rathmore; the finance he has set aside for this project in 1981; and the moneys he will provide in 1982.
I propose taking Questions Nos. 17 and 18 together.
The Commissioners of Public Works could undertake drainage works in these areas only in the context of a comprehensive scheme under the Arterial Drainage Act, 1945, for the entire Blackwater catchment in which they are situated. At this stage, however, I could not say when the Blackwater might be reached in the drainage programme.
