Mr. Leonard

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when he proposes to have the remaining manual telephone exchanges in County Monaghan converted to automatic.

: Castleblayney, Ballybay, Broomfield, Rockcorry, Stranooden and Tullynahinera exchanges are expected to be converted about the end of next month. Conversion of Scotstown and Tydavnet exchanges will follow late this year. The then remaining five manual exchanges in County Monaghan will be converted during 1984.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the total number of applications for telephones in (a) County Sligo and (b) County Leitrim; and when service will be provided to the applicants.

: The number of applications awaiting telephone service in (a) County Sligo is about 1,000 and (b) County Leitrim is about 500.

It is expected that service will be provided for the majority of the waiting applicants before the end of this year and for the remainder progressively during 1984.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when the necessary repairs will be carried out to a telephone kiosk at Ballyconnell, Tullow, County Carlow.

: Repairs to the kiosk at Ballyconnell, Tullow, are awaiting delivery of certain stores items and it is expected these will be available within the next few weeks.
