I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer called to the tax office in July to discuss his affairs with the inspector of taxes. On the basis of certain figures supplied by him in respect of the five years 1978-79 to 1982-83, it is likely that underpayments of tax will arise. Further details were to be submitted to the inspector to enable the tax position for the current year, 1983-84, to be brought up to date but these have not yet been supplied by the taxpayer.
