Vol. 347 No. 2

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 9, 10, 2 and 11.

I am anxious to raise a matter on the Adjournment and I should like to know if it is necessary to give details.

The Deputy should give the heading of the subject.

The building of Cavan general hospital.

The Chair will communicate with the Deputy.

I should like to ask the Taoiseach, in the interests of Cork, to ask the Minister for Industry, Trade, Commerce and Tourism to allay the fears caused by press speculation about the future of Irish Steel. Will the Minister give an undertaking to the House that the Government will support the future of Irish Steel because of the uncertainty that has been created by press speculation?

That does not arise on the Order of Business.

Will the Chair indicate how I can raise this matter?

I will send the Deputy a copy of Standing Orders.

I should like to raise on the Adjournment a question of importance to the constituencies of Meath and Cavan-Monaghan, and the country, the position of Bula mines and the Government's intention, or otherwise, to help get those mines into operation.

The Chair will communicate with the Deputy.

I should like to raise on the Adjournment the threat to industrial relations posed by the Government's decision to limit to 3¼ per cent the payments allowed under the price variation clauses of contracts.

The Chair will communicate with the Deputy.
