There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a house improvement grant from the person named.

503.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a £1,000 new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan.

If the person named submits the documents requested by my Department on 3 June 1982 further consideration will be given to his application.

504.

asked the Minister for the Environment when an application for a home improvement grant was made by a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan; when his Department wrote to Clones Urban District Council for technical information; and the reason for the delay in processing this particular application.

The application was received on 7 July 1982 and was refused on the grounds that the proposed work did not come within the scope of the house improvement grants scheme. Following a request for a review of this decision Clones Urban District Council which formerly owned the house, was asked on 29 September 1983 for technical information related to the structure of the dwelling. A reply was received from the local authority on 28 May 1984 and this is now being considered.

505.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a home improvement grant was refused in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Limerick; and if he will review the decision.

A house improvement grant of £200 was paid in this case on 29 August 1983 in respect of the provision of sewerage facilities. Grant assistance could not, however, be allowed in respect of the remainder of the proposal because, contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme, a period of ten years had not elapsed since payment of a previous grant was made in respect of the house on 11 February 1975. The applicant has been so informed.

506.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a £1,000 new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

A grant will be paid in this case when the person named notifies my Department that he has completed the work requested by my Department's inspector and a further inspection of the house confirms that such work has been completed.
