asked the Minister for the Environment when a £1,000 grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

A grant will be paid shortly in this case.

537.

asked the Minister for the Environment when consideration of a special contribution which is at present being undertaken will be completed for a group scheme in County Galway; and when grant and special contribution for this group will be approved.

The scheme has been the subject of discussions by the Department's inspector with the county council and the group and while the stage has not yet been reached where decisions can be conveyed on the questions of the special contribution and the allocation of grants, it is hoped that this will be possible in the near future.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a house improvement grant was not paid to a person (details supplied) in County Carlow.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a house improvement grant from the person named.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason an initial inspection has not been carried out on the premises of a person (details supplied) in County Carlow who applied for a house improvement grant over two months ago.

This grant has been approved.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare, as the work was inspected and passed in 1983.

The grant will be paid shortly.

asked the Minister for the Environment whether the maximum English-speaking offshore island home improvement grant has been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The application in this case related to certain home improvement works and to the provision of a water supply. A maximum grant of £900 has already been paid in respect of the improvement works and a maximum grant of £166 in respect of the provision of the water supply will be paid shortly.
